It’s pretty unusual that we sell a book at our shop that is so universally well received. This kind of book speaks to everyone on some level, which I think is the mark of a truly great storyteller. And his new book, A Thousand Splendid Suns, is just as masterful. I’m sure all readers will have opinions on what the screenwriters choose to highlight and leave out of the movie, any guesses?

Many of the members in our book club suspect that some of the early scenes from daily life in Kabul will be missing, and yet those help to establish why the protagonist’s failure to come to the rescue of his friend in the alley is such a heinous failure.
