Welcome Kite Runner Enthusiasts! The Kite Runner is an enthralling tale following the life of Amir, a young boy born in Kabul who later migrates to America following the downfall of the monarchy in Afghanistan. This book captured my interest in High School, and I have read it several dozen times. This book was well written and should be read by the young and old alike.

Kite Runner was read by everyone in Myhre’s Contemporary Literature class. 31 students read the entire book and majority of the class was reading ahead the entire time. This book changed my perspective on life. “For you, a thousand over”, a simple line in a novel ulterd my thought process forever. That quote is my senior quote for high school but forever my quote to my life. Thank you Hosseini.

I’m seeing the movie tonight with my 14 year old son. The buzz is exciting and I can’t wait to write my feelings on the experience later. Excited to discover other teens who appreciated that film and interested in discussing perspectives.

Hello COF,
This is Palwasha Mirbacha, senior in Simmons College. I am pleased or indeed honored to present the Kite Runner to our COF community. Kite Runner is the story of many of us in Afghanistan, young, old, ethnic minority, oppressed, privileged, parents, children, fathers, sons and so many others. We all were effected throughout the conflict time, in every single aspect of our lives. Kite Runner is about our past that we can’t forsake nor can we remove that scare left behind from those dark times of wars. Yet, we all gotta safe that child left behind and may be make the world a better place by securing the future of that last hope we have left behind, Sohrab.

Hello, Austin Fit. I had the marvelous opportunity to pre-view The Kite Runner movie with a group of Texas Book Festival and Austin Film Society members. It was a beautiful movie, that not only showed me a different view of life in another land, but also reminded me of what true friendship, loyalty and dedication are all about.

Hello, I’m obviously new and have recently read The Kite Runner. At first I wasn’t quite interested in the book, but as time went on, I became more interested. The book inspired me in the sense of relationships. I really enjoyed the book and can’t wait to see the movie!
